| A few weeks ago, I was having dinner with a couple of people, and one of them proposed this question: " If you could have dinner with anyone in this world, (other than Jesus), dead or alive, who would it be and what would you say to him/her?"And while it wasn't my turn to go first, I was really trying to search for someone substantial that I would really want to enjoy dinner with; someone who made an impact in this world, and it literally went anywhere from Bruce Lee to Sir Thomas A. Edison, etc etc.
One of the guys at the table decided to go first, and of alllllll the names of all these famous people I came up with in MY head, I realized all of them took the backseat when he shared who he would want to spend his dinner with, and the person he chose was:
"Adam."
i think looking back, i would love to spend a couple hours just talking to Adam and really trying to figure out what exactly was going through his head while he ate the fruits from the tree and why? And not just why he ate it, but where was he in preventing Eve from eating it? I think about how just GREAT the reward could've been... having the promise of eternal life, living in the flesh...but choosing to throw it all away.
In Genesis 3:17.."And to Adam he said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, 'You shall not eat of it,' cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life; 18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth to you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
Death is such an unpredictable thing, and even as unpredictable as it is..its still inevitable. When loved ones pass away, it takes such a huge toll on our hearts, EVEN when we know that they have moved on to a better place. The hardest thing to cope and accept is that we are no longer able to see them nor feel them in THIS life, when that was the only tangible relationship we ever had with them, ...and when its taken away from us, the direct effects are so physically/emotionally/mentally damaging. . . . What sucks is that the pain of having to cope with and recover from deaths in the family really could've been avoided. *sigh.
Rest in Peace Da-Yi Ma.

| Now if once we allow people to start spiritualising and refining, or as they might say "deepening," the sense of the word Christian, it too will speedily become a useless word. In the first place, Christians themselves will never be able to apply it to anyone. It is not for us to say who, in the deepest sense, is or is not close to the spirit of Christ. We do not see into men's hearts. We cannot judge, and are indeed forbidden to judge. It would be wicked arrogance for us to say that any man is, or is not, a Christian in this refined sense. And obviously a word which we can never apply is not going to be a very useful word. As for the unbelievers, they will no doubt cheerfully use the word in the refined sense. It will become in their mouths simply a term of praise. In calling anyone a Christian they will mean that they think him a good man. But that way of using the word will be no enrichment of the language, for we already have the word good. Meanwhile, the word Christian will have been spoiled for any really useful purpose it might have served.
woooooooooooow
